Workshop Description

This workshop introduces the basic elements necessary to create a simple, but functional, web page. In hands-on exercises, participants will use a web page composer to create a document, including basic layouts, formatting, and simple graphics placement. Additionally, participants will learn how WWW publishing works, where files need to be placed in order to be part of the Web space, naming conventions, and the significance of HTML. Participants without IFS privileges (contact the ITCS Accounting Office) or access to a department Web Server during class will NOT be able to publish their documents on the web.

Note: Medical Center employees should contact their systems administrator to confirm their uniqname and kerberos password.

Prerequisite(s)

Basic knowledge of Windows or MAC operating systems and Web browsers.
