How can I control spam?

The ITS Exchange Service offers the Brightmail spam detection system, but you have to create a rule in Outlook for it to work.

IMPORTANT! If you've already created the Brightmail rule, make certain it is the first item in your list of rules and checked.

  1. Select your Inbox.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Rules and Alerts
  3. In the Rules and Alerts window, if your Brightmail rule is not at the top as shown here, follow the steps to move it to the top.
