ITS Documentation

U-M is going Google! If you use the ITS Exchange email service, you will switch to a U-M Google account sometime during 2012. See the google.umich.edu website for details, including go-live dates. This document will remain available until all ITS Exchange email users have moved to Google Mail.

Set Up Outlook Anywhere with Exchange on a Windows Computer

S4334 • June 2011

Outlook Anywhere (formerly known as RPC over HTTPS) is one of the ways to access your ITS Exchange account when you are not on campus. It is part of the program. Outlook Anywhere is a special configuration of Microsoft Office Outlook that allows you to use all of its features including working off-line. The Web-based Outlook Web App, by comparison, offers fewer features.

LAPTOP USERS: Because the configuration is easier, we recommend that you set up your laptop while you are on campus using the steps in Set Up Outlook 2010 with Exchange on a Windows Computer (S4374). However, if you are not on campus, follow the steps provided here.
