Printing to Campus Printers with MPrint

With MPrint, you can print from your own computer to printers in the Campus Computing Sites, printers in ResComp Sites, and other campus printers that are set up to provide printing as part of the standard computing services.

What Is MPrint?

MPrint is a web-based application that lets you print to certain campus printers from any computer that has web access. Basically, MPrint uploads the file you want to print to a web server and then uses the web server to send the file to any campus printer that has been set up to work with MPrint. This includes printers in the Campus Computing and ResComp Sites, as well as some printers at U-M Libraries.

Using MPrint

  1. Go to the MPrint web site (http://mprint.umich.edu). You will need to log in with your uniqname and UMICH Kerberos password.

  2. Select a printer from the list in the Printer Selection pane. To see a list of printers from just one part of the U-M campus, select that area from the Printer Areas list on the left.

  3. Click the Upload Job button.

  4. Click the Browse button to select a file to print.

  5. Find the file on your computer, and click the Open button.

  6. Select whether you want to print single-sided or double-sided, then click Submit.

  7. The Queue Display will appear. To see if the status of your print job has changed, click the Refresh button.

  8. When your job is listed as completed, you can pick up your print job from the printer.

  9. Remember to log out of MPrint when you have finished printing.
