Information from ITS for those administering, managing, or supporting U-M information technology services.
Exchange Service
This campus-wide service allows departments to provide a sophisticated e-mail and calendaring solution to their users through an integrated, central offering. This service was conceived by an IT Commons-based discussion among LSA, Engineering, the Business School, and ITS. It is run and managed by ITS.
MRequest (request tracking)
A collaborative FootPrints server is maintained by ITS, the College of LS&A, and the School of Information.
IT Commons
Defining a new collaborative method for decision making about information technology that fits with the highly distributed nature of our institution, but reflects our desire and need for coordination.
MCommunity (in development)
Launched via the ITCommons to create a visionary architecture and plan for identity management, roles, data sharing and reconciliation, and directory services that reach far beyond the current system and organization constraints.
U-M IT Staff Knowledgebase
An IT Commons working group set up a wiki that U-M IT staff can use to share knowledge.
Windows Update Services
A number of departments on campus have deployed Windows Update Servers (also known as Software Update Servers or SUS) to provide security updates for their users. Because this service scales so well, they are willing to offer this service to the campus community.
