When to Contact the IT User Advocate

Please contact the Information Technology (IT) User Advocate if you suspect an abuse of U-M information technology policies, including:

• threatening or harassing messages
  (however, if you believe you are in immediate danger, please dial 9-1-1)

• spam from within the University

• digital copyright infringement

• promotion of a private business when the sender's e-mail address ends in @umich.edu

• when you believe a law is being broken using U-M information technology resources

• questions about campus IT policies or appropriate use of IT resources
