The Login Service provides a set of Linux machines, the Login Pool, to which members of the U-M community can connect remotely. Reach these machines by connecting to:
login.itd.umich.edu
using SSH (secure shell). You use this single machine name as you log in, and your connection will be routed to whichever machine is available at that moment.
The Login Service is part of the standard computing services. Most U-M students, faculty and staff are subscribed to the standard computing services automatically.
