Sponsor System. Released to departmental sponsorship administrators in March 2009. Released to ITCS Accounts Office in October 2008.
Web Service Access to the Sponsor System for MCIT. A Web Service that connects a Medical Center Information Technology (MCIT) application for obtaining uniqnames to the MCommunity Sponsor System was released to MCIT in July 2009. This Web Service will serve as a prototype for other U-M units that want to work with the MCommunity Team to develop Web Services to connect their own applications to MCommunity for programmatic creation of sponsorships.
MCommunity Infrastructure. Was put in place June 2008. This includes the Identity Vault and the data feeds connecting the primary authoritative data sources.
OTID processing. OTIDs are the One-Time Identifiers that new students and employees use to create their uniqnames.
MCommunity Directory (via the web). For most members of the U-M community, this will be the visible debut of MCommunity. The MCommunity Directory will replace the U-M Online Directory.
LDAP access to MCommunity will be made available to U-M system administrators via an LDAP Tree that is a replica of the MCommunity Directory. This is under development and will be made available at the same time as the MCommunity Directory via the web.
Uniqname Self-Registration for Sponsored Affiliates will be added to the Sponsor System. This will allow sponsored individuals to select a uniqname and password themselves via a web interface. This will be similar to the uniqname self-registration process already available to new staff, new Ann Arbor students, and alumni.Minor changes to the uniqname self-registration process for staff and students may be required.
MCommunity will introduce a tool that departments can use for departmental role management in MCommunity.
ITCS will begin to use MCommunity to provision its Basic Computing Package, as well as some other campus services. After that, MCommunity will offer a way for departments to do their own service provisioning through MCommunity.
