You are receiving this message because you joined the ed.project directory group. As a member of this group, you will receive periodic updates on the Enterprise Directory Services Project.
Below is an update on the project's status as of the end of 2006.

Notification that implementation of the Enterprise Directory was funded was received in late September. Work since then has focused on preparation for development -- staffing, licensing, planning, and more.
Several staff members have been hired for, or assigned to, the project. The project core leads are now all on board:
Interviews are being conducted for system administrators and Java developers.
The project includes the following teams:
Licensing negotiations for the software we will use are going well.
The board has solidified its membership and scheduled meetings for twice a month, beginning in January. The board will begin the new year with a discussion of the Directory Group Expiry Policy and a review of requirements and design documents.
The Core Team is working on a Proof of Concept of a data connection to PeopleSoft, some additional requirements gathering, data schema reviews, and more.
