Diagnosis & Software Repair

When you come to talk with us about a problem your computer is having, we'll ask you a few questions to help discern the nature of the issue. When you bring the computer, we'll look it over quickly to make an initial assessment as to the likely cause of the trouble.

Many times, problems can be resolved with a software remediation. However, it is not always possible to determine the source of a problem at first glance. If after taking it in for diagnosis, we discover that your computer problems are hardware-related, we'll stop work and notify you. (In some cases, you may be charged the minimum fee of $30.)

Hardware Repair

We are authorized to provide full warranty and out-of-warranty hardware repairs on Apple and Dell computers.

For other computers, we can diagnose and perform software remediation, though we cannot perform hardware repairs. For hardware repairs on such computers, check with other community resources or work directly with your computer's vendor.

Rates

Diagnosis is a set fee. Repair services are charged on an hourly basis:

Diagnose & call $30
In-Warranty Hardware Repair* no charge for parts or labor
Out-of-Warranty Hardware Repair* $60/hr (billed in half-hour increments) + cost for parts

* Note: we perform hardware repair only on Apple and Dell computers.
