Collaborate with M+Box
M+Box is not just for storage—it's for collaborating! See these Box features that allow you to work with your friends and colleagues with power and ease.
Personal M+Box Accounts
All active faculty, staff, students and sponsored affiliates with regular (not temporary) uniqnames on all three campuses (including Medical) are entitled to a personal 50GB M+Box account.
Shared M+Box Accounts
Active faculty, staff, students and sponsored affiliates with regular (not temporary) uniqnames may request a shared M+Box account for use by their department, group, organization, project or class. The shared account provides a way to collaborate on files that belong not to an individual, but to a university organization or function.
Store & Share Files
The real strength of M+Box is the ability to collaborate with your colleagues on campus and across the world, even if they do not have a Box account.
When you really need it, Box Sync allows you to keep a copy of your Box folders on your desktop. This is especially helpful in certain situations, but with power comes responsibility. Look here for tips on making Box Sync work for you.
Integrate M+Box Using Apps
Apps connect your M+Box data with other applications and services.
You can access the data stored in your M+Box account using your mobile device. Box supports access via smartphones and tablets using the iOS, Android and Windows operating systems.
Additional Email Addresses in M+Box
M+Box allows you to use an additional email address you have (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com) to maintain all of your Box collaboration in one M+Box account. You can also use alternate email addresses to create a secondary personal Box account or merge an existing personal account with M+Box.
Maintaining Access to M+Box Files After Your U-M Affiliation Ends or Changes
If you are an alumni or retiree, you keep the power of M+Box after you leave U-M with a converted account. Those who lose all U-M affiliation will lose access to M+Box.
